Julie London
A sultry, smoky-voiced master of understatement, Julie London enjoyed considerable popularity during the cool era of the 1950s. (via)

I like the “vocool” style but find her music no more than mildly pleasant. Anita O’Day, June Christie and Chris Conner are more to my taste.

Some collectors buy old Julie London vinyl records for the covers.

Nice pix! Thanks! Her record covers are quite nice.
Two good Julie London movies: The Third Voice 1960 with Edmund O’Brien and Laraine Day (Julie is quite sexy in it); and Man of the West 1958 with Gary Cooper–a stalwart Julie in the tough frontier towns.
I watched a few episodes of Emergency a few months back but she looked disappointingly plain in that.
I’ll keep The Third Voice in mind. It isn’t in print (more importantly for me Netflix doesn’t have it).
Maybe The Third Voice will pop upon TCM sometime. I saw it years ago on a videotape somebody had made from tv.
Just saw that shot of Doris Day on a newer page. You’ve sure got a nice portfolio of Miss Day! She brightens my day, I know that. Thanks for giving us all a nice pre-Xmas gift with her.
